Journaling Our Hopes and Prayers to add to our family through adoption..

Last Summer was the beginning of a new journey..The journey to add to our family through adoption. Seeing as we are certified foster parents in Upstate NY I figured, finding a child to add to our family would be easy as pie.  Not so much..Not so much at all.. So Here we are many months later no closer to adopting as when we started.  New York is filled with many teenagers in need of forever homes, but Bob and I don't feel called to adopt a teenager, we deeply desire and hope to adopt a baby or a younger child (or even two children) that can grow up with our own..

We are deeply thankful for the children God has blessed us with, but there's been a missing piece lingering.. I (Elizabeth) feel that missing piece especially, losing four babies is difficult..Giving birth to two babies is joyous and adopting a child is equally joyous (and having two through my husband's first marriage has also had it's great joys as well)  but with the thousands of children in need of homes in the US, and this family wanting to add to our family through adoption, why is it so very difficult to find a match for our family?  My arms desperately want to be filled with a little one again.. 

I've scoured adoption websites daily.  googled key words for adoption regularly, started webpages, wrote up posts on adoption forums, let our homefinder know, inquired over almost 30 children now..etc, etc, etc..  We've been dragged into scams quite a few times already in the hopes of adopting.. It's difficult to know that so many people have no conscience and have no problem dangling the thought of a child and a baby in front of a family's face who would love nothing more than to add to their family.  It makes it feel so exciting and hopeful but reality is toying with emotions is all that it ends with..

My hope is maybe through starting this blog, the right people will read it and find us.. And in the process it will be used as an outlet for journaling our adoption process and journey as well as a way to express the emotions swirling around it all.
